4th December 2020 | Newcastle - Upon - Tyne, UK
After local restrictions scuppered their planned November date, Emily & Owen finally got hitched with a weeks notice and just 6 guests on a cold rainy day in December. They had an incredibly intimate ten minute ceremony inside the Grade II* listed building, however due to government guidelines we as photographers weren't permitted to attend the ceremony or even step inside the building at any time. We pressed our lenses up against the glass doors that separated us, and snapped a few candid shots of the bride, groom and their family moments before the I dos.
In your face COVID-19!
After a quick pit stop to drop baby Evangeline home, we met back up with Emily, Owen and Brydee under this incredible railway arch in Newcastle for a just married photoshoot in front of the awesome mural by Faunagraphic and Ciarán Glöbel. Sheltered from the rain, they staved off the cold with impromptu dancing, dress twirling, and a whole lot of laughing.
"It was either a huge wedding and no money to do up the house (which was legit awful!), or a perfectly tiny wedding and the ability to do what we wanted with our new family home.
In all honesty- the “pandemic wedding” didn’t bother us- as corny as it sounds I would have married Owen wearing a bin bag in McDonald’s if it meant I could call him my husband!"
